This is where you just can't help feel bad for the second male (lead) character. Kenji knows he doesn't have a chance with Shizuku and even goes on to help her in her dilemma. Though he likes to provoke Haru.
Haru on the other hand, I think he didn't realize he was about to do something until Shizuku called him. Though he is possessive of her don't think he would go as far as to actually kill anyone. He is pretty new to this kind of thing so might be doesn't know how to react in these kind of situations. Even Kenji mentions him being an idiot.

I kinda dislike Haru a bit for this episode specifically, think about it, to be willing to not only impose your will on others but also kill in the process, thats quite scummy.
we know Haru dislikes Kenji, but there is no reason to issue threats over potential realistic "if" scenario, assume for a second that Shizuka really did like Kenji more than Haru.
now Haru out of jealousy decides to kill him and than either tell her to her face that he killed him and why(potentially telling her the same "listen if you like anyone else beside me, ill kill them") or simply hiding that fact while making moves on her.
this is probably one of his worse personality traits that even beats the scumminess of Kenji, the thing that makes it even worse by the way is that he is trying to respect Shizukas wishes which will make it just pretense

I agree with you. That's problematic and being the reason why their relationship has not worked yet. But we also have to consider that without such trait of Haru the story will have nowhere else to go. Also without Haru's forwardness Shizuku'd not probably grow and Kenji'd probably become interested in her. On another note, maybe 'kill' would be too much, but what would you think of a man who was intending to ntr you.
The anime MAL's score is 7.5 while the manga has 8.2 score, so part of the story that the anime covered may not be very satisfying though...

when i was in highschool i kinda didnt understand at why haru did that to yamaken coz im not yet in romance and didnt understand anything.. now im adult and i rewatch this scene thats where i understand haru's personality and all. i love haru and shizuku but on what i observe haru is kinda 'yandere' not fully but kinda. I understand that haru develop this personality because of his childhood. So to me what i really wanna say is haru's kinda scary and let say a little bit obsessed to shizuku. In anime its cute but in reality its so scary (just saying).

Fuck haru at this point. All he does is act like a little child, literally threaten or even try to kill yamaken and initially threatening to rape shizuku and not caring about her boundaries.

This episode felt bit weird I was perplexed by Haru's extreme insecurity and God knows what he was going to do to Yamaken if Shizuku didn't called him at that moment

I rewatched this anime after years of 1st watching it, and I came to the conclusion that I dont like their relationship (Haru's and Shizuku) it feels that they only like each other because of the attention rather than personalities or goals or whatever. Would have Shizuku still liked Haru if lets say he didnt kiss her in the 1st ep or those things like that. IDK just a train of thought that came through.
